I am very happy to share my views on Christmas. Christmas is a Christian festival but as India is a diverse country it is celebrated by all regions.
Christmas means "Feast day of Christ." It is the yearly celebration marking Jesus Christ birth on the 25th December as a cultural and religious celebration for a lot of people all over the world.
History
Christmas celebrates Christmas day as an anniversary of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, a spiritual leader whose teaching forms the basis of their religion. The first Christmas was celebrated in 336 A. D. in Rome. Christmas celebrates unlimited gifts of God.
How is it celebrated?
Although Christmas is not that famous in India because India has very less Christian population, in other countries it's celebrated and treated as one of the important festivals. The preparations include decoration of the place with Christmas tree lights. Christmas trees bring the Christmas spirit into homes. The church is also decorated for a special day for performance of songs and skits. People join their families and celebrate Christmas. Santa Clause has the craze on this day. People dress like Santa and give gifts to children.
Conclusion
the central idea of the day is the importance of giving and sharing with the family and loved ones. The day Jesus' birth is the beginning of the great things in the world. Christmas is such a festival which people from all regions and faiths celebrate worldwide despite it being a Christian festival. It is the essence of a festival to unite the people.
